The Castle of Cansano was originally a lookout tower from the Middle Age.; It was accessed via the Porta da Capo, which has now disappeared. Only the walls of the original structure remain today. Parts of the wings have undergone many changes over time until finally becoming in the 18th century normal residential housing. Until 1936 the tower still existed however it unfortunately collapsed...
